Common questions
Why is the gain calculation free?
The number is the most useful thing we give you. If your gains are below the £3,000 allowance, you may not need a report at all. We think it is only fair to show you the number before asking you to pay.
What is the difference between Standard and Pro?
Standard (£49/year) gives you full PDF reports for all tax years and supports up to 10,000 transactions — enough for the vast majority of UK crypto holders. Pro (£99/year) adds unlimited transactions, accountant sharing so your accountant can access your data directly, and CSV export of your full transaction history.
Is the PDF actually accepted by HMRC?
The PDF report contains all the information you need to complete the SA108 (Capital Gains Summary) section of your Self Assessment return. HMRC does not accept PDF attachments directly — you use the figures to fill in your return online or on a paper form.
What is accountant sharing?
Pro users can enter their accountant's email address and give them read-only access to their tax data and reports. Your accountant can then view your calculations and download your reports directly from their Polyconomic account — no more emailing PDFs back and forth.
Can I get a refund?
If you have not yet downloaded any reports and would like to cancel within 14 days of subscribing, contact us and we will sort it out. We want every subscription to be useful.
What if I am not sure whether I need to file?
Use the free checker on our homepage. If your gains are below the £3,000 annual exempt amount, you likely do not need to file at all — and you can check that for free.
